The Republican Party’s next Presidential debate is scheduled in a week and a half in New Hampshire, and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be there.

That’s despite the fact that at least 1 GOP state chairman says he doesn’t want him at any debates.  That’s after his remarks at a debate in South Carolina earlier this month,in which Paul suggested that America’s interventionist foreign policy provoked the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Saul Anuzis, Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, said he was going to circulate a petition among GOP leaders nationwide to ban Paul from future debates, calling his comments “off the wall and out of whack.”

Paul is the only GOP candidate running on an anti-war plank (roll tape#1 o.q.”if we go in”)

Those types of comments, as well as other stances, have led to a cult following.  Paul has been serving on and off in Congress since the 1970’s, and ran as the Libertarian candidate for President in 1988.

His candidacy is creating a buzz in some circles.  Tampa bay area supporters are going to congregate in their first Meet Up for Paul next Friday night, June 1st, in Tampa, at Perkins Restaurant on Dale Mabry.

That’s being coordinated by Kevin Moore (roll tape#1 o.q.”gaining grass roots support”)

That’s Kevin Moore, the coordinator for the Ron Paul 2008 Meet Up to be held in Tampa next Friday night.  For more information you can go to RonPaul2008.Com
