Tomorrow in McAllen, Texas, for the 18th straight year, a group of activists will challenge the U.S. economic blockade of Cuba, by delivering 90 tons of aid for the Cuban people.
The action is organized by the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization and Pastors for Peace.
Organizers today held a news conference in McAllen where they detailed their plans. One of those speaking was the Rev. Thomas Smith, IFCO Board President.
Smith will be aboard the caravan that will ultimately make its way to Cuba to provide supplies to the people in direct defiance of the 40-plus year embargo by the U.S. government.
