Governor Charlie Crist yesterday announced plans for the country’s largest waste-wood biomass power plant, that will be in the Panhandle, in rural Liberty County.
The project is an example of one of the key elements in Governor Crist’s far-reaching energy initiative. As a means of reducing greenhouse gases in Florida, Crist wants the state's utility companies to generate 20 percent of their power from renewable energy sources, like biomass or wind or solar power.
