Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul got a boost today as online activists promoted a one-day fund raising drive. The goal was to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each and raise $10-million in a single day.
Although that might be a bit too ambitious, Paul has all ready raised more than $5-million so far this quarter. Paul made headlines with more than $ 5.2-million in the third quarter and has more than $5.4-million in cash on hand.
Paul is the Texas congressman who ran as the Libertarian presidential candidate in 1988. He’s had many faithful supporters nationally over the years, but has never received the national acclaim that he’s enjoying now in his uphill campaign for the GOP nomination.
Mark Cross, the Florida state coordinator for the Paul campaign, extols some of the congressman’s virtues.
