ANTI-ABORTION GROUP TARGETS FLORIDA - Mitch Perry
A national Pro-Life group has rolled into the Tampa Bay Area this week with a fleet of trucks displaying graphic images of Aborted fetuses...
The Trucks depict those images next to the word "choice" in quotes, and then with a phone number and website....
The advertising campaign is the work of the Southern California based group The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform....
Gregg Cunningham is the director of that group.....(roll tape#1 o.q."information in their heads")
Cunningham said that pictures have the power to change consciousness, and uses as examples the televised images of theVietnam War, or the images from the Civil Rights Era.
Wendi Grassi is Director of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida ....She doesn't think the Trucks are effective (roll tape#2 o.q."more than anything else")
But for those who might be offended by the graphic depictions of abortions, Gregg Cunningham from the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform tells WMNF that they haven't seen anything yet (roll tape#3 o.q."topic of discussion in those states")
Wendi Grass is Director of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida....She says the fact that in all probability there will be at least one Supreme Court Justice retiring in the next 4 years, Abortion rights will be a political issue this year (roll tape#4 o.q."turn away from reproductive rights")
There is a total of 6 to 12 trucks with the graphic images driving thru parts of downtown Tampa, as well as on Dale Mabry, Fletcher and Fowler Avenues....comments powered by Disqus
