BUSHWOMEN: TALES OF A CYNICAL SPECIES

03/11/04

Radio talk show host and author Laura Flanders, has written a new book (just in time for Women's History Month) in which she charges that women are being appointed to high-level positions in the White House in order to provide cover for the administration's true agenda. Flanders says that the mainstream media has failed to find an interesting story- covering National Security advisor Condoleeza Rice's piano playing and make-up while ignoring her controversial role as a Chevron oil executive. EPA chief Christine Todd Whitman is a supposed "moderate", while having a questionable record protecting the health of people living near Ground Zero. Flanders details the stories of many women in the Bush White House whose backgrounds are either at odds with the aims of the Bush administration or have conflicts of interest with their roles in government.
