WMNF Drive-Time News Tuesday | Listen to this entire show:
Over the weekend, Barack Obama called on the Democratic National Committee to count the full votes of disputed convention delegates from Florida and Michigan.
The issue has been the source of a yearlong controversy that was settled in May when the DNC’s Rules and By-Laws Committee said the delegates would be counted, and could go to the Denver Convention, but with only half a vote.
Obama’s move is considered a signal to Hillary Clinton supporters that he wants to bring the Florida Democratic Party together to help him beat John McCain this November. But will it?
Ana Cruz is the former spokesperson for Florida For Hillary, and a Democratic Party spokesman, discussed the situation.
Incidentally, it was announced today that Hillary Clinton will be campaigning for Barack Obama this month. She will be in Las Vegas this Friday, and in South Florida on Aug. 21 stumping for the presumptive Democratic nominee.
