The presence of melamine in baby formula led to 13,000 hospitalizations and at least two deaths in China. Last month, the Associated Press reported that tests by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had found traces of melamine in the infant formula of a major U.S. manufacturer of formula.
In response, on Tuesday Sen. Ronda Storms, a Republican from Brandon, wrote letters to two Florida cabinet members asking them to take action to protect consumers. WMNF spoke with Storms, who recently gave birth to a baby boy.
