After the Democratic National Committee (DNC) stripped Florida’s of its presidential delegates because of the timing of the state’s primary election last January, a Democratic activist in Tampa filed a lawsuit claiming that in doing so, the party discriminated against Florida voters.
Today, Victor DiMaio asked the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta to rule that the DNC disenfranchised Florida’s Democrats by not allowing them to choose their party’s nominee for president.
A federal judge had earlier dismissed the lawsuit.
WMNF spoke with DiMaio this afternoon.
