Tampa activist appeals lawsuit against DNC
After the Democratic National Committee (DNC) stripped Floridaâs of its presidential delegates because of the timing of the stateâs primary election last January, a Democratic activist in Tampa filed a lawsuit claiming that in doing so, the party discriminated against Florida voters.
Today, Victor DiMaio asked the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta to rule that the DNC disenfranchised Floridaâs Democrats by not allowing them to choose their partyâs nominee for president.
A federal judge had earlier dismissed the lawsuit.
