This segment featured an interview with Debbie King, organizer of a local town hall meeting this week on health care.
From the group's press release:
"Florida health care advocates have invited Congressman Bill Young (R-District 10) to join a town hall meeting on Thursday April 16th to talk about why real health care reform must happen in 2009. The event will be one of 90 taking place in 43 states nationwide over the April Congressional recess. The people of Pinellas County will share with Rep. Young their concerns about health care and will answer against those who say we can’t afford to fix the system now.
“Over 190 Members of Congress have signed onto the HCAN Principles committing unwavering support for health care reform, and the people of Florida want our own Congressional Members to do what it takes to pass quality, affordable health care for all in 2009,” said Chrystal Hutchison, Deputy Director of Florida Consumer Action Network.
Health Care for America Now (HCAN), the nation’s largest health care campaign, is holding events across the country during the recess from April 6th to April 17th to stress that health care reform is an urgent must-do for Members of Congress when they return to Washington."
