Community members enjoyed the shuffleboard courts during the fundraiser on June 13.
The second Annual Summer Shuffleboard Event organized by Green Florida was held at Mirror Lake Shuffleboard Complex on June 13. The event was a fundraiser for community gardens in Tampa Bay. The community enjoyed an evening of local food and beverages, live music by Loose Oranges, a silent art auction and shuffleboard courts.
Green Florida recently launched Paris Gardens project in memory of Paris Whitehead-Hamilton, the child gunned down in Bartlett Park in April. These gardens may reduce neighborhood crime and violence, volunteers at Green Florida say. Manicured lawns may also increase the property values and reduce stress, said Andrea Hildrebran founder of Green Florida and Bartlett Park Community garden.
