Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Tuesday)
Hendrik Hertzberg is a political columnist for the New Yorker. In his latest collection of his columns, Obamanos: The Birth Of A New Political Era, Hertzberg describes a nadir of Democratic Party politics with the defeat of John Kerry in 2004. From that he traces the lead-up to the Obama victory in November 2008: President George W Bush's attempt to privatize social security, the Terri Schiavo right-to-die case, the battles over torture and the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He covers the McCain-Obama race from the primary through Obama's historic victory.
