'Family of Secrets' - a look at the Bush dynasty12/01/09 Robert Lorei
Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Tuesday) | Listen to this entire show:
Good afternoon, welcome to Radioactivity. I'm Rob Lorei. Tonight President Obama will announce that he is sending an additional 30,000 American troops to Afghanistan. That news is disappointing to peace activists, budget hawks and others who thought he would begin to wind down the wars started by the Bush Administration in the early part of this decade.
Our guest today is investigative reporter Russ Baker, who's new book is Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty, The Powerful Forces That Put It In The White House, And What Their Influence Means For America (Bloomsbury). In the book, Baker looks back at the history of the Bush Family going back to the early part of the 1900's and their involvement in military contracting an intelligence. He traces that history along with the growing power of the military-industrial complex to the JFK assassination, the Vietnam and Iraq Wars, Watergate and the election of George W. Bush.
