This afternoon, President Barack Obama announced the corrective actions he is ordering in the wake of the Christmas Day bombing attempt on a flight to Detroit. The president says his security team concluded that shortcomings occurred in three ways.

Obama says he is directing a series of additional corrective steps across multiple agencies.

Obama says these reforms will improve the intelligence community’s ability to collect, share and act quickly and protect lives.
