Good afternoon, welcome to WMNF 's Radioactivity. I'm Rob Lorei. Coming up we'll talk about two surprising results from yesterday's primary elections. Later we'll open up the phone lines and take your calls.
Yesterday, among the many results, there were two big surprises in the primary races: political novice and businessman Rick Scott defeated Attorney General and veteran politician Bill McCollum in the Republican race for the gubernatorial nomination. And in the Hillsborough County Commission District 3 race, Les Miller beat incumbent Commissioner Kevin White.
Here to talk about the outcomes are two St. Petersburg Times staffers- Amy Hollyfield, state and politics editor, and Bill Varian who covers the Hillsborough County Commission.
