The Florida State Supreme court heard arguments this morning from both supporters and opponents of the states school voucher program. Lower courts have ruled that one particular voucher program is unconstitutional because it diverts public money to religious institutions which use it to promote their religion. George Kish and Debbie Butts of the SNPS discussed the importance of landscape plants that are compatible with Florida's environment. George and Debbie said native plants are superior to non natives on a variety of levels. They grow well in Florida's harsh environment. Native plants provide a habitat for native and desirable animal species.
