When the Ford Amphitheatre opened last summer on the state fairgrounds near the intersection of I-4 and 301, and the concerts were so loud that residents a mile away complained they couldn’t sleep. The county soon found itself engaged in a legal battle to get Clear Channel, which has a 45 year contract to operate the amphitheatre, to turn down the music. Pinellas Progressive Coalition Meeting - by Emily Reddy

On Saturday nearly 30 groups came together in St. Petersburg's Fossil Park in a rally for Progressive Values. The main goal of the event was to build alliances between the groups so that they can work to support each other in the future. Groups took turns speaking, each explaining their groups' goals and current projects and inviting the crowd to join them in their efforts.
