Ailing Palestianian leader Yasir Arafa, arrived in France today as the guest of the French government and was immediately taken to a military hospital for treatment of what is being called a mysterious ailment.

Arafat's wife, Suha, who lives in Paris with their daughter, was at his side at the high-security hospital, which specializes in trauma cases and blood illnesses.

THE IRS INVESTIGATION OF THE NAACP - Radioactivity

NAACP President Kweisi Mfume and Chairman Julian Bond described the just announced IRS investigation of their organization's tax exempt status. At issue is a speech that Bond gave at the group's annual convention this summer. The federal government is investigating whether the speech was partisan. Bond says the speech was tough on both President Bush and the Democratic Party and that he did not tell supporters who to vote for.

AMENDMENT ON SLOT MACHINES - Mitch Perry

Attempting to stave off fears that slot machine profits would NOT go to education, South Florida Parimutuel facilities on Tuesday signed a contract guaranteeing 30 percent of their take would go to the Florida School Boards Association.

The money – estimated to be between $300 to $500 million dollars a year – would be distributed to all 67 School Districts.

EARLY VOTING AT COLLEGE HILL LIBRARY-Andrew Stelzer

Channel 28 reported this afternoon that there were problems with voting machines at the college Hill library on east Martin Luther king boulevard today, which caused an extra half hour delay for people attempting to vote early. Throughout the state, there have been lines at voting sites since early voting began on October 18th.
