After the Democratic National Committee (DNC) stripped Florida’s of its presidential delegates because of the timing of the state’s primary election last January, a Democratic activist in Tampa filed a lawsuit claiming that in doing so, the party discriminated against Florida voters.
Today, Victor DiMaio asked the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta to rule that the DNC disenfranchised Florida’s Democrats by not allowing them to choose their party’s nominee for president.

Former Tampa Mayor Sandy Freedman is a strong Hillary Clinton supporter. She attributes the fact that so many superdelegates have chosen Clinton over Barack Obama to the power of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Freedman is not happy with the decision to cut Florida’s congressional delegation in half, and she’s as unhappy as Clinton advisor Harold Ickes about how the delegate breakdown came out in Michigan.

Megan Foster is a grassroots Tampa Bay area Democrat.
At the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee Meeting on Saturday, Florida Sen. Bill Nelson invoked her name when talking about how Florida’s 1.75 million voters who participated in the Jan. 29 primary should have their vote counted.
Foster, who supported the idea of restoring Florida’s delegation with half their votes, thought Nelson was on a different page.

In less than 48 hours, the Democratic National Committee’s Rules and Bylaws Committee meets to decide what to do with the delegates in Florida and Michigan.
Sen. Bill Nelson is scheduled to make a presentation shortly after 9:30 a.m., representing the Florida Democratic party. He’ll be followed by Florida DNC member Jon Ausman and Tampa Sen. Arthenia Joyner, representing the Clinton campaign. It is not known at this time who will represent the Obama campaign.
