Veg Fest Organizer Isabelle Tassi on "Talking Animals" Oct. 3
My guest on "Talking Animals" Oct. 3 will be Isabelle Tassi, chief organizer of the third annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest.
The Tampa Bay area’s only vegetarian/vegan festival and produced under the auspices of Florida Voices For Animals (in honor of the 30th annual observance of World Farm Animals Day), Veg Fest is a big, ambitious, multi-faceted event taking place October 13 at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, from 10am-6pm.
Over the years, a number of Veg Fests have been established in North America and worldwide, and the Tampa Bay event—which is free to attend—features numerous components.
Those components include food vendors from local restaurants offering vegetarian and vegan fare, an array of speakers—including Dr. Michael Greger, a physician, author and noted speaker on nutrition and public health (he uploads a nutrition/food-oriented video every day, available for free at www.NutritionFacts.org)--live music provided by multiple bands, and such acclaimed films as “Forks Over Knives” and “Vegucated.”
Isabelle Tassi will speak with us live, in studio, on "Talking Animals" on Oct. 3 at 11am, and listeners are invited to participate in the conversation by calling (813-239-9663) or e-mailing (DJ@wmnf.org).
