At the Climate Change Summit in Miami earlier this month, Florida Governor Chalrie Crist targeted state power companies to provide 20% of all their energy supply from renewable energy sources.
Federal legislation targeting roughly the same standard will come up for a vote in the House of Representatives next week. The Bill, HR 969, has received bipartisan support. However, its chances in the Senate are questionable.
Thatâ€™s according to Anna Aurelio, who directs the Washington DC office of the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, or US PIRG.
